Apprentice of the Year

The judges are looking for specific examples and supporting evidence that proves claims made in entries. Entries will be scored equally by performance, going the extra mile and learning and development. Below are ways that judges will be looking to score entries however, this list isn’t exhaustive. If you have other ways to prove criteria these will also be considered.

Performance

Going the extra mile

  • Consistently exceeding expectations

The judges are looking for specific examples and supporting evidence that proves claims made in entries. Entries will be scored equally by student support, positive impact on the community and/or industry and student attainment. Below are ways that judges will be looking to score entries however, this list isn’t exhaustive. If you have other ways to prove criteria these will also be considered.

Student Support

  • The college provides comprehensive and innovative student support services
  • Services are effectively tailored for the diverse needs of students

Positive impact on the community and/or industry

  • The college has demonstrated leadership in community or industry initiatives
  • The college has made significant contributions to the local community/industry, and has had a sustained and meaningful impact.

Student Attainment

  • The college has consistently high student attainment or has shown significantly improved student attainment
  • The college has a range of highly innovative and effective teaching and learning practices

Recognises tutors or educators who have gone over and above to support their students or apprentices. This could be anything from supporting a student or apprentice facing difficult circumstances to ensure they can continue with their studies and achieve, helping their students or apprentices to overcome obstacles to flourish and surpass expectations, or delivering innovative and high-quality teaching that resonates.

Educator of the Year

The judges are looking for specific examples and supporting evidence that proves claims made in entries. Entries will be scored equally by going the extra mile, impact and learning and development. Below are ways that judges will be looking to score entries however, this list isn’t exhaustive. If you have other ways to prove criteria these will also be considered.

The judges are looking for specific examples and supporting evidence that proves claims made in entries. Entries will be scored equally by student support, positive impact on the community and/or industry and student attainment.
